Electronic Transfer of Text and Graphic Files

Allen Press can also accept FTP graphic files via the Internet following the steps below:

Web Browser (Such as Internet Explorer or Netscape)

Follow this link and follow instructions for FTP via web browser: http://ftp.allenpress.com  

FTP Client Software (Such as WS FTP or Fetch)

1. The user should FTP to: ftp.allenpress.com.
2. If the user has not been previously assigned a specific Username/Password, log in with the username of "anonymous".
3. When asked for a password, they should enter their email address [example: username@allenpress.com].
4. Type "bin" to change to binary code.
5. Send the file with the "put" command [example: put illustrations.tif] to the inbox folder unless you have been instructed to use a different folder by the editorial office.
6. Type "exit" to logoff.

SPECIAL NOTE: Any files sent electronically should be compressed with StuffIt or WinZip before transmission. Please contact the editorial office to discuss what elements they will need for the review process and for manuscript submission.
