Allen Press Acquires Hawk M6 UV Inkjet Systems

LAWRENCE, Kan. – May 10, 2017 – Allen Press, Inc. has purchased two Hawk M6 UV variable inkjet systems from Capital Mailing Equipment, Inc. The Hawk M6 is the latest generation of high-resolution drop-on-demand (DOD) print technology.

The Hawk M6’s utilizes UV inks and LED lamps for drying which shortens production time overall.

“Integrating these variable inkjet systems into our plant means publications can be addressed faster which means we gain a lot of production efficiencies and can deliver jobs quicker,” said Julie Rinke, Vice President of Operations.

The system can print on both coated (UV and AQ) and uncoated paper, foil, plastic, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and even chipboard according to Troy Shatus, President of Capital Mailing Equipment, Inc.

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve our capabilities and position the company for future growth,” said Randy Radosevich, CEO. “The Hawk M6 will allow us to offer new services to our customers in the coming months, including more direct mail options.”

The inkjet system is scheduled for installation during the summer at the Lawrence, Kansas manufacturing facility.
